Tuesday will marks the second day that The City of Greenville's Aquatics and Fitness Center will conduct a fitness study but this continues until March 9 for men and women who do not exercise. The purpose of the study is to develop a more active lifestyle by requiring non-exercisers to work out three or more times per week. Participants completing the program will be given six weeks of additional membership to the facility free. |

Thursday February 2nd |
For any poker players Upper Deck Sports Bar and Grill will host the World Tavern Poker on Thursday. Anyone can play and it is free. This begins at 7pm and this is every Thursday. |

Friday February 3rd

First Friday Uptown Art walk is this Friday and every first Friday. It is from 6-9pm and at uptown Greenville.com you can see the new 2012 first Friday uptown art walk map. This map is a little different than the 2011 art walk schedule for those of you who were able to attend last year. The map will show participating venues and the trolley ride schedule. This also lists the specials at the restaurants and stores participating during First Friday. Friday is also the Lil Pirate Exchange at the Greenville Convention Center. This is a semi-annual children's spring and fall shopping event designed to bring great sales and bargains to the Greenville area. This beginnings Friday at 10am and it will run on Saturday as well until 5. Friday is also Christian Center Church's 2012 Empowerment Explosion, Friday, February 3rd at 7:30pm. There will be guest speakers and it will be held at Koinonia Christian Center Church off Greenville Boulevard. Starting at 9am on Friday there will be a Library Book Sale at the Greenville Convention Center. The sale will have books, games, videos cds and more. The sale will end at 8pm on Friday. Also on Friday the bank "instead of sleeping" will be performing at 7pm at the Tipsy Teapot, which is located in downtown Greenville. And the band Rosedale is playing at the bar Live. | Saturday February 4th | Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:30 pm the play "love letters" will be performed the Music Academy of Eastern North Carolina, which is located on Red Banks road. This play is centered around two characters in which over 50 years discuss their lives through notes, letters and cards. Saturday the Pirates play the Rice Owls at 5pm at Minges Coliseum. |

| Monday February 6th | ECU will be holding a Women's Self-Defense Class on Monday from 6-9pm in Christianberry gym, which is located on campus. Faculty staff and students can sign up for this on the ecu website. Upcoming events |

And for some future events to get excited about Friday February 10th is the Dream Factory's Second Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at Rock Springs Center in Greenville. All the proceeds go to the granting dreams to our local 29 surrounding counties critically and chronically ill children. Tickets will be available at the door and include wine hors d-oeuvres and entertainment. $30 each or $50 for two. Another upcoming event is Greenville Green Drinks which is Thursday February 16th from 5-7pm at Winslow's it's a way to get together with the eco-minded, eco-professionals, and eco-curious of Greenville for a casual monthly gathering. It's a way to make connections and share information. No dues, no agenda, no membership...strictly social! Also The 6th annual Pirate Fest will return to the Uptown District of Greenville April 13th & 14th. This annual event celebrates eastern North Carolina's rich history steeped with famous pirates, including the infamous Blackbeard and Greenville's own Pirates of East Carolina University.
